Configuring Time Based Access Lists.

Time Based Access Control Lists are a handy feature which were introduced in Cisco IOS Release 12.0.1 T . They are simple access lists which provide the same functions as Extended Access lists provide. The only difference is that Time based access control lists provide access control feature based on time. Time based access control lists use time range to provide access control using time. In turn Time range uses, Cisco Router/Switch Clock to retrieve the time. There are three basic steps in configuring time based Access control lists as under; 1.  Define and Configure the Time range. 2.  Define the access control list . 3.  Apply the Access Control List to the interface. We will now cover few examples of Time Based Access Control lists as under: Configuration Example 1 In the example, we want to allow telnet access to network devices only on week days i.e MON to FRI.
