Stuxnet is a
computer worm discovered in June 2010. Stuxnet initially spreads via
Microsoft Windows, and targets
Siemens industrial software and equipment. While it is not the first time that hackers have targeted industrial systems,
it is the first discovered
malware that spies on and subverts industrial systems,
and the first to include a
programmable logic controller (PLC)
rootkit.
Well Stuxnet was not a virus or worm rather it was a cyber missile launched by US/Israel to disturb the Iran's Nuclear Program resulting in blast at one of the Iranian Nuclear Centifuges and disturibing their entire program routine. If you can even guess what I am trying to say then, you should be able to understand that US/Israel are in this new kind of war with Iran where they were able to make first mark of their victory without even shedding a drop of blood or even flying their forces to Iran. We could be a part of this entire program and have our PC's acting as a botnet for them.
